Introduction to Audio and radar DSP SoC chip

Audio and radar DSP SoC chip are system-on-a-chip (SoCs) that integrate a digital signal processing (DSP) core with dedicated functional modules. Specifically designed for audio and radar signal processing scenarios, they combine the computational flexibility of dedicated DSPs with the high integration advantages of SoCs, serving as core computing power carriers in consumer electronics, autonomous driving, security monitoring, and industrial sensing.

These Audio and radar DSP SoC chip differ from general-purpose processors or pure standalone DSP chips: Audio and radar DSP SoCs integrate the signal processing core, dedicated hardware acceleration units, memory, peripheral interfaces, and even RF front-end control modules onto a single chip. Their core typically employs a heterogeneous design, based on a low-power general-purpose DSP core, and superimposed with acceleration engines customized for audio or radar scenarios. For audio scenarios, they integrate multi-channel audio sampling ADCs, reverb processing, and echo cancellation hardware acceleration units; for radar scenarios, they integrate dedicated hardware modules such as pulse compression, moving target detection (MTD), and 2D CFAR constant false alarm rate detection. This significantly reduces the computational power consumption of general-purpose DSPs and improves signal processing efficiency. Meanwhile, the chip integrates a general-purpose MCU subsystem, responsible for task scheduling, peripheral communication, and upper-layer interaction management, realizing a single-chip solution of "signal processing + system control." This significantly reduces the circuit board area of terminal products, lowers design complexity, and reduces overall power consumption.
